Coverage and sources
Every case comes from records the city or county publishes itself, as a data feed or in its public case portal. We pull each one daily, keep the status history the source overwrites, and map each source's own status codes to four plain ones.

What each status means
- Lien
- The city or county has put the case in lien status. Money is owed and a recorded code lien follows the property.
- Escalated
- Before a code enforcement board or special magistrate, or referred to collections or compliance.
- Open
- A violation is cited, or a complaint is under investigation, and it is not resolved. Once cited, fines can run until the owner complies.
- Closed
- The city or county closed the case or marked it in compliance.
